Overcast, Light Showers, Strong NW Wind.
Ram Hill to Monument Hut. Monument Hut to Red Hut. (2 days).
Grade 2.

Did a New Year’s Eve
Trip up the Hopkins Valley. The original plan had been to take mountain bikes
as far up the Valley as we could go, and tramp further up the valley – but due
to the poor weather, and high numbers of people in the valley – we chose to
stay at Monument Hut. We attempted then to bike ride to Red Hut, but couldn’t
get across the main channel of the Hopkins.
