Monarch
Cruises Otago Peninsula Premier Tour Plus Larnachs Castle – Otago Peninsula.
I did a
familarisation trip with Monarch Cruises in October 2019. We started at the
Monarch HQ and picked up the other guests on the trip. We then drove to the
High Road and did a tour through Larnachs Castle – John provided a lot of
interp associated to the Castle throughout the tour. After that we continued along
the high road and dropped down to Hoopers Inlet and Papanui Inlet – checking out
some of the wading birds along the way. After that we drove out to Taiaroa Head
where we did the Albatross Tour. It was magnificent seeing the birds in the air
from the Observation Room. After that we drove around to Penguin Place where we
did the tour through the trenches to check out the Yellow Eyed Penguins who
were nesting at the site.
Following on
from that we were dropped off at the Monarch wharf, and we did the Monarch
Cruise out to Taiaroa Head, before boating back down the Harbour to the Port.
