Track Marking Project. (3 hours).
I assisted with a Wakatipu LandSAR project to install numbered track markers along the One Mile Track leading up through the bush to the Ben Lomond Intersection. This section of track had resulted in a large number of SAR callouts of the years, and marking the track will assist in reducing the number of callouts, and numbering the track markers will assist in identifying the subject’s location if/when there is a callout. I helped by nailing the markers to the appropriate trees on a SAR training evening.
