Acted as a snow shoe guide for NZ Snow Shoe in the Remarkables in Queenstown. Duties included: providing guests with information on the area’s geology, flora & fauna, cultural history, and European history; instructions on equipment use; selecting safe routes to avoid avalanche terrain; basic snow-pack analysis; and customer care.
Worked as a Day Walks Guide for NZ Guided Walks. (49 days).
Acted as a hiking guide for NZ Guided Walks. Provided Interpretation, instructions on equipment use and setup, on track guiding, and off-track route selection and guided, and customer care on the Routeburn Track as a day walk up to Routeburn Flats or Routeburns Falls Huts; and from the Dart River through the bush to Lake Sylvan, and to the Lake Sylvan Campsite – sections of this are off-track; and a day trip up Ben Lomond in Queenstown starting at the top of the Gondola, up to the Saddle, and up Ben Lomond; and a half-day trip around Bobs Cove and the Bridle Track near Queenstown; and a half day trip around the Mount Crichton Loop as part of the Miners Trail.

Worked as a Day Walks Guide for NZ Guided Walks. (36 days).
Acted as a hiking guide for NZ Guided Walks. Provided Interpretation, instructions on equipment use and setup, on track guiding, and off-track route selection and guided, and customer care on the Routeburn Track as a day walk up to Routeburn Flats or Routeburns Falls Huts; and from the Dart River through the bush to Lake Sylvan, and to the Lake Sylvan Campsite – sections of this are off-track; and a day trip up Ben Lomond in Queenstown starting at the top of the Gondola, up to the Saddle, and up Ben Lomond; and a half-day trip around Bobs Cove and the Bridle Track near Queenstown; and a half day trip around the Mount Crichton Loop as part of the Miners Trail.


Worked as a second guide on the Hollyford Track for NZ Guided Walks. (16 days).
Acted as a second guide for NZ Guided Walk on the Hollyford Track. Provided Customer Briefings, Interpretation, instructions on equipment use and setup, on track guiding, and customer care on the Hollyford Track. Assisting with Hosting guests at the Lodges, loading/unloaded of passengers on to Jet Boats, and loading/unloading of passengers on to Helicopters. Guided Walks conducts 3 day and 2 day guided walks on the Hollyford Track with associated Bus Transport, Jet Boat Transport, and Helicopter transport – as well as operating 2 lodges (Pyke Lodge, and Martins Bay Lodge).
I also operated as a casual bus driver, driving the Hollyford Coach from Queenstown to Te Anau, down to the Hollyford Track End, over to Milford Sound and then back to Queenstown.

Worked as a snow shoe guide for NZ Snow Shoe (part of Guided Walks NZ). (43 days).
Acted as a snow shoe guide for NZ Snow Shoe in the Remarkables in Queenstown. Duties included: providing guests with information on the area’s geology, flora & fauna, cultural history, and European history; instructions on equipment use; selecting safe routes to avoid avalanche terrain; basic snow-pack analysis; and customer care.

Worked on a casual basis for Glacier Explorers as a Guide/Skipper (3 days).
Acted as a Casual Skipper/Guide for Glacier Explorers on the Tasman Glacier Lake. Duties included guiding up to 42 passengers along the Tasman Glacier Lake track (approximately 20 minutes long), and then driving a 15 seater boat with an outboard motor around the Glacier Lake for between 40 to 55 minutes, while providing information relating to the Lake, Icebergs, Glacier and Flora & Fauna.

Worked as a Casual Driver/Guide for Tasman Valley Tours. (3 days).

Acted as a Driver/Guide for Tasman Valley Tours on the Ball Hut Road. Duties included driving a 4WD up the Tasman Valley Road (and occasionally up the Ball Hut Road), and then driving an ARGO up the Ball Pass Road for approx. 5km. Then guiding guests up a short walk (5 minutes) up to the top of a moraine wall to a lookout with a view of the Tasman Glacier Lake and Terminal Face. Also provided guests with information relating to the Geology, Glacier, Glacier Lake, and Flora & Fauna.
