The day ended up being quite a long one with the travel time from Dunedin and back.

End of Year Expedition, and Kayak resit. (5 days).
15 cumecs at the Put in, and 75 cumecs at the take-out.
I attended the TPP COE end of year expedition down the Clarence River. This was also my resit opportunity in regard to White Water Kayaking. So I was reassessed on grade 2 kayak rolls, throw bagging (static), and boat barging. The trip was a grade 2 trip, and the flow was 15 cumecs at the Put In, and 75 cumecs at the take out. There was minimal rain through-out the trip which made for some quite long days of paddling. On day one we travelled from Greymouth to Hanmer and then on to the Acheron Confluence. We put in at the Acheron Confluence and paddled down to just below Tinline Stream. I kayaked this section of the trip. On day two we paddled from the campsite below tinline, and then down to Quail Flat. I kayaked in the morning, and rafted in the afternoon. On day three we paddled down to below Ravine Hut – again I kayaked in the morning and rafted in the afternoon. On day four we paddled down to Matai Flat. For this section I rafted in the morning, and kayaked in the afternoon. Then on the last day we paddled out down to the takeout at the bridge over the Clarence at the State Highway. I kayaked the first part of the day, and then rafted the last part. We then packed everything up, and drove from north of Kaikoura back to Greymouth.
